To permanently delete files that are present on a server from My Work folder, registry setting must be changed as follows:
- Open the registry editor.
- Open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Dassault Systemes > SolidWorksPDM.
- On a right-click, click New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.
- Enter for the Name: MyWorkDeleteMode.
- Double-click MyWorkDeleteMode. and in Value data, enter 0.
- Close the registry editor.
Note: To ensure data integrity and to avoid the risk of accidentally losing files, it is recommended to always use the default setting MyWorkDeleteMode= 2. Deleting data is always a sensitive operation and this option must be implemented by the most experienced users, as there is no undo (once the data is deleted, there is no recovery). - Open the Connector for SOLIDWORKS and select all the files that you want to delete.Files are selected which are represented by blue background.
- Press Shift + Delete. Selected files are deleted permanently.Note: When you delete a large number of files or multiple objects from My Work folder, you may find the deletions taking a long time. You can resolve the issue with a registry addition. However, the registry addition may result in some interim dialog boxes not appearing in the user interface.
