Overriding Revision Numbering

When you check documents in to the database, you can override the next automatic revision number. You can choose to keep the current revision number, increment to the next number in the revision numbering scheme, or specify a new number.

  1. Select the documents to check in and click Actions > Check In.
  2. In the Check In dialog box, select files whose revision number you want to override and click Override Revision (Check In toolbar).
  3. In the Override Revision dialog box, select one of the following:

    Use current revisionRetains the current revision number even if the document has been modified.
    Use next revisionUses the next revision number even if the document has not been modified.
    Use overridden revision stringSpecify a revision string in the field, for example, YZ.

  4. Click OK.

    You return to the Check In dialog box, with your choice reflected in Inc. Rev. and New Ver.

  5. Click Check In.

    The file list shows the revision override.
