Renaming a File

Use the Connector for SOLIDWORKS Rename to rename a file.

Before you begin:
  • Open Connector for SOLIDWORKS in Windows Explorer.
  • Navigate to the file that you want to rename.

Context:

Note: You can use Rename to rename files regardless of their check out status. As a result, you can rename a file that you previously checked in and have not yet checked out.

  1. Right-click the file that you want to rename.
  2. Select Rename.
  3. From the filename, type the new name for the file.

Your new filename is now the name of the file.
