Working Offline

You can work on files in your local directory offline when you are not connected to the Connector for SOLIDWORKS server.

In offline mode, only files in your local cache are accessible. Files that are currently checked out are writeable, but you must return to working online before you can check in changes.

To work offline before you log in to Connector for SOLIDWORKS:

1. From either the files and folder section of Windows Explorer or the Favorites section of Windows Explorer, right-click 3DEXPERIENCE.

2. Select Work Offline.

Note: To see Work Offline, you may have to cancel the login panel.

The next time you double-click 3DEXPERIENCE to open Connector for SOLIDWORKS, the system automatically opens in the offline mode.

Before you begin: You must lock the assemblies or parts that you want to work in the offline mode.

When working in SOLIDWORKS, the commands on the 3DEXPERIENCE menu, CommandManager and task pane toolbar are unavailable. The columns that normally provide status information are blank because you are not connected to the database and the preview pane indicates that you are working on a local copy of the file that is outside the file database.

  2. Modify only the files that you have locked.
