Creating Chamfers and Corners

You can create a beveled surface or a constant radius fillet along the common edge between two faces.

This task shows you how to:

Create a Chamfer or a Corner

You can modify an edge using the Chamfer or Corner tools.

  1. Select the edge you want to chamfer or fillet.
  2. In the context toolbar, click Chamfer .

    You can also choose the Corner tool to create a corner.

  3. Drag the arrow.
    The ruler displays the length of the chamfer or the radius of the corner.

  4. To define the chamfer length or corner radius, do either of the following:
    • Release the mouse when the displayed length or radius is correct.
    • Click the value displayed along the ruler, enter a new value in the box, and then press Enter.
    Note: You can create corners between lateral faces only whereas chamfers can be created between any faces.

Copy or Paste Corners and Chamfers

You can copy or paste a corner or a chamfer on a lateral edge.

  1. Press Ctrl+C to copy the corner (in blue on the image below).


  2. Select the lateral edge you want to modify.
  3. Press Ctrl+V to paste the corner (in green on the image below).


    Tip: You can paste a chamfer on a lateral edge or on a border edge.
