Folding or Unfolding a Part

You can unfold a folded part, fold it again, and see the different stages between folded and unfolded views.

This task shows you how to:


Before you begin: Create a part with at least one bend.

Fold or Unfold a Part

You can see your part in folded or unfolded view.

From the Model section of the action bar, click Fold / Unfold .

You can also press Alt + F or Alt + U.



The part unfolds.



Tips:
  • You can switch between the fold and unfold views by pressing Alt+F or Alt+U.
  • You can move sharp edges, lateral faces, as well as perform translations and offsets in the unfolded view.

Fold or Unfold a Part with Bent Part Design Player

You can see the different stages of your part between folded and unfolded views.

  1. From the Compass, click Play .
    A control panel appears and an animation starts.

    With no action on your part, the animation moves back and forth from folded to unfolded view.

  2. Use the following options to fold or unfold your part:
    • The Step backward button moves the animation to the previous view.
    • The Step forward button moves the animation to the next view.
    • The Pause button stops the animation on the current view.
    • The Play button starts the animation.
    • The slider enables you to place the animation at any given point of its trajectory. It also allows you to control the speed and view of the animation.
      Tip: Pause the animation before you use the slider.

    The Step backward and Step forward buttons enable you to move the animation to eight different positions. For example:







  3. To stop the animation, click Play on the Compass.
    The control panel disappears and the animation stops.
