Instantiating Power Copy Features

You can instantiate power copies using the context menu once they have been created.

  1. Select the power copy feature from the tree and select PowerCopy.xxx object > Instantiate from the context menu.
  2. In the Insert Object dialog box, click Use identical name.
  3. In the work area, click the edge where you want to place the power copy.


  4. Click the wall feature in the tree.
  5. In the External parameter selection dialog box, select the Thickness parameter.
  6. Click OK.
    Tip: Select the Repeat check box to repeat the instantiation. In this case, once you click OK in the Insert Object dialog box, the latter remains open, the power copy Inputs are listed and ready to be replaced by new inputs, as described above. Modified parameters are retained too for the next instantiation. To exit the command, clear the Repeat check box or click Cancel.
  7. Optional: To modify values, click Parameters.

    The Parameters command is only available if parameters have already been modified in the power copy.

    1. Click Create formulas to automatically create a formula on every parameter with the same name provided there are any.
    2. Click Close.
  8. Click OK in the Insert Object dialog box.
  9. Click OK to create the power copy instance.
    The power copy is instantiated in context, meaning its limits are automatically re-defined taking into account the elements on which it is instantiated.
