Positioning Contextual Components

Contextual Instantiation lets you select the component template at the product level and place it at the required location. You can also select the power copy and UDF at the representation level, and place it where needed.

  1. In the Selected Eng Template box, select a template of a component.
    Notes:
    • You can click Catalog Browser or Library Browser to select a template of a component.
    • If the representation is activated, you can choose the power copy or UDF in the Selected Reference box.
  2. Under Input, select the face and the points where you want to place the components.
  3. Optional: Under Parameter, modify the parameters that are published while defining the PLM template.
