You can select the component template at the product level and place it at the required location. You can also select the power copy and UDF at the representation level, and place it where needed.
From the Component section of the action bar, click Contextual Instantiation.
In the Selected Eng Template box, select a template of a
component.

You can click Catalog Browser or
Library Browser to select a
template of a component.
If the representation is activated, you can choose the power copy or UDF in the
Selected Reference box.
Under Input, select the face and the points where you want to place the components.
Notes:
You can select multiple inputs for only one of the given inputs. In this case, you can neither select multiple inputs for other inputs nor select multiple parameters.
If you select a power copy, the first geometrical set that is available under the selected representation appears in the Destination box. A new geometrical set is created when there is no valid destination available under the selected representation.
Optional: Under Parameter, modify the parameters that are published while defining the PLM template.
