Allow Leader to Modify Frozen Content

This access rule determines if a Leader/Leader (Restricted) can modify content that is in the Frozen state. By default, this access rule is enabled. This access rule only applies to the Leader access role; it does not allow Contributor or Author users to modify frozen content.

Organizations could assign people who perform the design task to the Leader/Leader (Restricted) or Author/Author (Restricted) access role. By default, a Leader/Leader (Restricted) can modify content in the Frozen state. If the person assigned to the Leader/Leader (Restricted) role, however, performs design tasks, you can prevent that user from modifying frozen content by deactivating this access rule.

This access rule applies to these types of content:

  • Engineering Definition
  • Engineering Evaluation
  • Engineering Resource

Frozen "content" means the Reference so that aggregated content (such as Instance, Port, and Connections) are constrained by the aggregated reference. When this access rule is enabled, a Leader/Leader (Restricted) can perform these actions:

  • Edit or lock an attribute of the Reference
  • Edit or lock a stream of the Reference
  • Add or insert a Port, Connection, or Instance
  • Remove or cut a Port, Connection, or Instance
  • Edit or lock a Port, Connection, or Instance

If this access rule is disabled, a Leader/Leader (Restricted) cannot perform the above actions.
