Allow New Revision on Maturity States

This access rule determines the maturity states in which new revisions of content are allowed.

Some companies want to allow users to create new revisions only if content has been released. Other companies allow new revisions for content still in process. For your company, you can choose any combination of the baseline states: Private, In Work, Frozen, Released, or Obsolete.

The default value specifies the In Work, Frozen, and Released states.

This access rule applies to these types of content if they allow revisions:

  • Definition
  • Evaluation
  • Resource

For any state defined by this rule, users can create new revisions even if a later revision for the content already exists in a higher state. However, content governed by a Change Order can only be revised in the Released state regardless of the states allowed by this access rule.
