Configuring Specification Management

You can configure the option to show the release snapshot feature in Specification Management.

Required access role: Administrator

  1. Open the Collaborative Spaces Configuration Center widget. For more information, see Widgets to Configure Content and Business Rules.
  2. In the menu in the left pane, click Specification Management.
  3. To show the release snapshot feature, select the Enable Release Snapshot Feature check box. This check box is cleared by default.
    The release snapshot feature is activated.

    The Release Snapshot Template field is shown while creating a product specification or a document. The Release Snapshot tab is shown when a product specification or a document is opened. The Download Specification Report command is shown in the context menus for documents and product specifications.

    The report is generated automatically when the object is promoted to the Released state.

    Click Reset to clear the Enable Release Snapshot Feature check box and deactivate the release snapshot feature. The release snapshot, template, and report information are removed from product specifications and documents. If the object is promoted to the Released state after the release snapshot feature is deactivated, the report is not generated.

  4. Reload the cache.
