Synchronize the Spaces in a Standard Space Structure
You can synchronize the space concept root and the space references as per the changes in the space manager.
-
Add or change the cutting elements to modify the space system.
-
From the
Operations section of the
action bar,
click
Synchronize Spaces
.
The Synchronize Spaces dialog box appears.
The Name column: lists all space concept roots available under the space root.
The Input Status column: displays the status of each space concept root.
The Action column: indicates the action required, depending on the status of a space concept root.
The Children Status column: displays the status of the child nodes of a space concept root.
The following table shows the possible statuses and the corresponding actions required for a space concept root. It also shows the possible statuses of the children of the space concept root.
Input Status Action Children Status Unknown The space hierarchy feature is unavailable.
- Unknown The space concept root is not synchronized and the status of its children cannot be computed.
Out-of- sync The space hierarchy is not in sync with the space manager.
Synchronize The space concept root needs to be synchronized due to the modifications in the space system.
Out of sync The space concept nodes and the space references need to be synchronized due to the modifications in the space system.
Double-click the corresponding space concept root row and click Synchronize Spaces .
Synchronized The space hierarchy is in sync with the space manager.
Ignore The space concept root is already synchronized.
Synchronized The children of the space concept root are already synchronized.
Synchronized The space hierarchy is in sync with the space manager.
Ignore Out of sync The space concept nodes and the space references need to be synchronized due to the modifications in the space system.
Double-click the corresponding space concept root row and click Synchronize Spaces .
Error There is an error in the inputs of the space hierarchy.
Double-click the corresponding space concept root row to display the error.
Ignore Unknown The space concept root is not synchronized and the status of its children cannot be computed.
Synchronized The space hierarchy is in sync with the space manager.
Ignore Error The spaces available under the space folder and space concept structure are incorrectly defined.
Double-click the corresponding space concept root row to display the error.
-
Click Analyze Broken Spaces
.
The Analyze Broken Spaces dialog box displays the broken space references associated with the active space system and the space assignments created for them.
A space reference is broken when its pointed space cell is deleted.
You can click Delete Broken Space and Assignments to delete such space references from the space folder. The space assignments created for those space references are also deleted.
Tip: To analyze and delete all the broken space references irrespective of space systems, right-click the space folder and select Analyze Broken Spaces . -
Select a space concept root row whose input status is
out-of-sync and then click
Synchronize Space Concept Root
.
The selected space concept root is synchronized and the status of its children is computed.Note: You can select the multiple rows and click this command to synchronize them.
-
Double-click a space concept root row whose children status is
out-of-sync.
A new dialog box appears. It displays a complete tree structure of the space concept root.
The Name column: shows the detailed tree structure of the space concept nodes and the space references.
The Status column: shows the status of the space concept nodes and the space references.
The Action column: indicates the actions required to synchronize the space references.
The following table shows the possible statuses and the corresponding actions required for the space concept nodes and space references:
Status Action Unknown An error occurred while computing the status of the space concept node or space reference.
- New The space concept node or space reference is new under the space concept root due to the addition of space cells or cutting elements in space system.
Add The particular space concept node or space reference needs to be added under the space concept root.
Missing The space concept node or space reference is to be deleted from the space concept root due to the removal of space cells or cutting elements from the space system.
Remove The particular space concept node or space reference needs to be removed from the space concept root.
Out-of-date The space concept node or space reference needs to be synchronized as per the modifications of space cells or cutting elements. In this case, the geometry of the space reference changes.
Update The particular space concept node or space reference needs to be updated.
Out-of-sync Note: This status is applicable only for the space reference.Synchronize The particular space reference, which refers more than one space cells, needs to be synchronized.
Note: This action is applicable only for the space reference.Up-to-date The space concept node or space references are up to date with the space system.
Ignore The space concept nodes or space references are already synchronized.
Manually added The particular space concept node or space reference is manually added to the space concept root.

Click
Synchronize Spaces
.
A progress bar displays different messages depending on the synchronization of the space concept nodes or space references. The complete tree structure including the space concept nodes and space references is synchronized.
