Creating Curves Using Control Points

Creating 3D Curves on a Scan

You can create a 3D curve on the points of a scan.

Before you begin: Open an existing 3D shape containing a scan. Only scans of the "scan on cloud" type can be selected since other types of scans might contain too many points.
  1. Select the points on the scan.
  2. From the section of the action bar, click 3D Curve .
  3. Select the curve creation type.
    • Through points: the resulting curve is a multiarc curve passing through each selected point.
    • Control points: the points you click are the control points of the resulting curve.
    • Near points: the resulting curve is a single-arc, with a set degree and smoothed through the selected points.
  4. Click OK to create the curve.
