Creating Blend Curves

You can create a NURBS blend curve between two given curves. This function generates a blend curve between two end points. You can select any geometry element for the end point, even surface edges, for example, or a position in the inner of a surface. The blend curve can be connected to the adjacent elements with G0, G1, G2, or G3 continuity.

You can dynamically interact with handles to define the end points of the blend curve.

Before you begin: Open a 3D shape containing two curves.
  1. Select two curves at one end and click Apply.
  2. In the work area, click G1.
  3. In the Display Tools section of the App Options panel, click Tensions .
Ratio handles are displayed on the curves if the continuity is at least G2.
  4. Change the length of the handle to control the third control point.
Tip: Right-click the handle's tip to directly enter a value in the box.
  5. Click again Tensions to hide the ratio handle.

Note: Tension handles work in a similar way as ratio handles, with an impact on the second and third control points at the same time.

  6. Move the radius handle to vary the radius of the blend curve.
  7. Click OK.
