About extrapolating Curves and Surfaces (ICEM Shape Design command)

This section deals with basic concepts you should know before beginning with extrapolating curves or surfaces.

Curves and surfaces can be extrapolated or trimmed. In case of surfaces, topological contiguous edges can be extrapolated as one edge.

Manipulators and Contextual Commands for Extrapolation (Feature)

Manipulators are displayed at the corner/end points and in the middle of the edges/curves for a dynamical extrapolation with Standard or Unequal. Right-click the right mouse button on a handle of the manipulator to activate the following contextual commands:

Reset
Resets a single edge. Depending on the selected manipulator handle, different actions can be carried out:
  • In the middle of the edge (type Standard): resets the edge position.
  • At a vertex (type Standard): resets the corner point (U and V direction are simultaneously modified).
  • At a vertex (type Unequal): resets the selected direction (U or V).
Reset All
Completely resets the original geometry and undoes all modifications. This option corresponds to the Reset button in the dialog box.
