Converter for STEP supports design range management. When you create new content, you must specify the associated design range. Normal range is the default option and is sufficient in the majority of cases. For more information, see 3DEXPERIENCE Native Apps: Introducing Design Range Management. At ImportSTEP files are imported in the design range defined in the Design Limits section in the Preferences, not in that defined in the file, if any. A warning is displayed in the work area and in the error file if the imported geometry is not compliant with the current design range. Note:
The hybrid behavior of hybrid assemblies is lost as only the design range defined in the
Preferences is taken into account.
The resolution for Geometry quality enhancement is adapted to the current design range. At ExportThe data are exported in the design range defined at their creation, even in the case of hybrid assemblies, not in the design range defined in the Design Limits tab in the Preferences. The output file contains the resolution value. For assemblies containing both normal and large ranges, the output contains the information about the largest range, but does not identify data in large range from data in normal range. A warning message is displayed when exporting large range data, to remind you that the receiver may not be able to open it. |
