Updating the Characteristics of a Product

Whenever your metrics values are impacted by your manipulations, you can use Characteristics Update to ensure that the characteristics of your product are always up-to-date.

Before you begin:
  • Product properties are indexed.
  • Activate a product. The following scenario describes the update of the characteristics of a root product.
  • The Characteristics Update command is also available for single entities in the Business Value Definition widget.
  • For users who do not have access to the Business Performance Assessment app, the Characteristics Update command is available in the Tools section of the action bar. In this case, the initial update status of the characteristics is not provided. Only a message appears in the 3D area to notify the user about the update completion.
  1. From the B.I. Valuation section of the action bar, click Characteristics Update .
    In the Characteristics Update panel, the update status of the various characteristics of the selected product appears and information on how many parts need to be updated is provided.

    The criticality of the update status is divided in three states:

    Color Update Percentage
    Orange Inferior to 20%
    Grey Between 20 and 99%
    Green 100%

  2. Click Update.

    Note: During the progress of a characteristics update, interactions are not allowed.

    When the update is complete, the final update status appears.
