Sharing Content

You can share communities, posts, media, questions, ideas, or wiki pages with any member or user group of your platform or public networks.

Note: The user's or user group's name can only be used when sharing content with someone who has already validated the platform invitation. You can use an email only if:
  • The user has not validated the platform invitation yet.
  • The user has not been invited to the platform and your administrator has activated external sharing.

The share command is available:

  • in the context menu of a community.
  • around your content.
Important: In conversations, you cannot share in the following:
      • from the what’s new,
      • when the timeline view is selected,
      • a content's detail view.

Before you begin:
  • The users with whom you share the content must have the required access rights on that content or be able to request access to content that has been set as private.
  • If the content is shared with a user group that is not an explicit member of the community or with someone who has not been invited to the platform yet, the given content must belong to a community with public or private visibility rights access for external users.
  • If the conditions above are not fulfilled for one of the recipients, the share is cancelled for all the recipients, However, the users that are not invited to the platform yet will still receive an invitation which grants them external user's rights to the platform.
  1. In the content you want to share, click Share and select either of the following tabs.
