Assigning roles and Additional Apps

Administrator can assign relevant roles and additional apps that are required to access Collaborative Designer for SOLIDWORKS from SOLIDWORKS through the Members dashboard in the Platform Management widget.

  1. Log in as an administrator in the Platform Management widget.
  2. Navigate to the Members dashboard.
  3. Search for a member.
  4. In the Roles tab, select the Collaborative Designer for SOLIDWORKS check box and click OK.

    Note: To work with Design with SOLIDWORKS, Collaborative Designer for SOLIDWORKS role must be assigned in addition to the Collaborative Business Innovator and Collaborative Industry Innovator roles.

    When the user logs in to the web application, Design with SOLIDWORKS appears in the Compass.

You can use SOLIDWORKS for the following purposes:

  • Start SOLIDWORKS with 3DEXPERIENCE PLM Services connected to the 3DEXPERIENCE server.
  • Create 3DEXPERIENCE desktop shortcut to SOLIDWORKS with 3DEXPERIENCE PLM Services add-in.
