You can open a 3DEXPERIENCE filter in SOLIDWORKS using the Open With command from the Product Structure Editor, search for the filter and open it, or using drag-and-drop. When a filter is opened in SOLIDWORKS, a unique file is created in the database and the filter icon is visible along with the title in MySession. Hence opening several filters of the same assembly and these filters can share the sub-assemblies or parts is possible. On opening a filter in SOLIDWORKS, the root object loaded in MySession is the physical product of the 3DEXPERIENCE filter. You can perform all the operations as that of any other physical product. Note:
Replace by Revision command is not
supported for filters.
If any of the components present in the filter is deleted, the filter cannot be opened and a message is displayed to update the filter in Product Structure Editor. Also, if the filter impacts the data structure in SOLIDWORKS, only the 3DEXPERIENCE structure is filtered while the SOLIDWORKS files are always entirely opened. Notes:
The filter structure can be converted to drawings, and when the drawing is saved a relation is created between the drawing and the filter. Using the Relations app, the filters and drawings can be accessed. On opening a drawing of a filter in SOLIDWORKS, the filter is automatically downloaded and the drawing dependencies are managed. You can perform all the lifecycle-related operations on a drawing. |
