Assigning Bookmarks to SOLIDWORKS Objects

You can assign Bookmarks to objects from the Save dialog box.

  1. From the SOLIDWORKS side panel, open the MySession widget.
  2. Select an object and do one of the following:
    • Right-click > Save
    • Right-click > Save with Options
    • From the action bar, click Save Active Window.
  3. In the Save dialog box select the required objects, and click Save with Bookmark .
    Bookmark Editor opens.
  4. From the left frame of Bookmark Editor, select a bookmark.
    • Click Apply to Selected to apply the bookmark to the objects chosen in the Save dialog box.
    • Click Apply to All to assign the bookmark to the all objects in the Save dialog box.
The selected bookmark is displayed for the corresponding SOLIDWORKS objects, under the Bookmark column in the Save dialog box.
  5. Click Save.
    Notes:
    • Bookmarks are assigned based on the CAD family object. On saving, the CAD Family and Physical Product for all configurations are added to the bookmark.
    • You can assign only one bookmark during each bookmark assignment process.
    • When you select the check box for New Revision for an object, the Bookmark column becomes blank for that object. Use the Save with Bookmark option and save the new revision to a new bookmark, or leave it blank. If left blank, the old revision remains to the existing bookmark assignment and the new revision is not assigned to any bookmark. If a new bookmark is selected, the old revision remains to the existing bookmark assignment, and the new revision is assigned to the new bookmark.
    • Adding a configuration to a part that is already saved to a bookmark with its part family and the part physical product and saving to 3DEXPERIENCE, automatically assigns the added configuration to the bookmark where the family is already attached.
    • An object can be assigned to multiple bookmarks. You can assign a new bookmark during the modification of an object.
