Changing the Default Language

You can change the default language of Design with SOLIDWORKS from the 3DEXPERIENCE side panel.

Before you begin: Clear the local cache from your My Work folder.
  1. Log on to 3DEXPERIENCE using your credentials, roles, and collaborative space.
    Note: The Credentials dialog box is displayed in default language selected during the installation.
    MySession opens in the 3DEXPERIENCE side panel.
  2. Select Profile > Preferences.
  3. Click Language Preferences and select a language.
  4. Click Save.
    A dialog box appears, stating in the selected language that the default language is changed, and you must restart the computer. A new My Work folder is created in the changed language.
    Note:
    • Close SOLIDWORKS and Design with SOLIDWORKS, and restart the computer to implement the changed language.
    • For a windows account, the default language is used by all 3DEXPERIENCE accounts.
    • When you open the Design with SOLIDWORKS from Compass for the first time, the language of the 3DEXPERIENCE side panel is the default language selected during the client installation, regardless of the dashboard language setting.
    • For successive opens, the 3DEXPERIENCE side panel in SOLIDWORKS is displayed in the language selected using the Profile > Preferences option from the side panel.
