Duplicating SOLIDWORKS Files

You can duplicate SOLIDWORKS files that are in the My Work to a different folder.


Before you begin:
  • Connect to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
  • Download assemblies and parts before creating their duplicate files.
  1. Select a file.
  2. Right-click the file and click File Duplicate.

    The File Duplicate dialog box appears.

    Table 1. Columns
    Column Description
    Type Displays an icon for the corresponding file type.
    File Name The file name on the local disk.
    Copy Select this check box to select files for creating duplicates.
    Status Displays the status of the file.
    Target Path Displays the path of the duplicate file.

    Action Description
    Add Prefix Adds a prefix to the file name.
    Add Suffix Adds a suffix to the file name.
    Replace Replaces a term in the file name or the destination folder name.
    Reset Resets the file name.
    Table 3. Options
    Option Description
    Destination Select a folder to save the duplicates of the selected files.
    Include Drawings Includes drawings of the selected file with the duplicated file.

  3. Select a destination folder and click OK.

The selected files are duplicated in the specified location.
