Tooling Split

You can create the core and the cavity on the molded part with the tooling split.


Before you begin:
  1. Define the pulling direction, parting lines, and parting surface for the mold.
  2. Apply shut-off surfaces where required.
  3. Create a profile using the Sketch section of the action bar. The profile must include the parting surface.
  1. From the Mold Features section of the action bar, click Tooling Split .
  2. In the dialog box, select the sketch profile from the work area.

  3. From the work area, select the parting and shutoff surfaces.
  4. Enter the Cavity thickness the Core thickness.
  5. Enter the required Parting plane offset. The offset specifies the distance of the parting plane from the parting surface. Click to reverse the direction of the Parting plane offset.
  6. Optional: You can click the check box to Enable draft. Enter the required Draft angle.
  7. Optional: You can add Knit tolerance from the Advanced section to adjust the tolerance required to split the mold.
  8. Click .
    Note: To edit the tooling split, double-click the tooling split in the Design Manager tree.
