Interference Detection

You can identify interference between components in the assembly when components are making contact.

  1. Import your components or assembly in the 3D area.
  2. From the Assembly section of the action bar, click Interference Detection .
  3. In the Select items box, select two or more components.

    By default, the top-level Physical Product assembly is listed in the box.

  4. Optional: Select Treat coincidence as interference if you want to report coincidence items as interference.
  5. In the dialog box, select how you want the non-interfering components to display.
    OptionDescription
    Translucent. Non interfering components display in a translucent state in the 3D area.
    Hidden. Non interfering components are hidden in the 3D area.
    Current. The display state of non interfering components are not changed in the 3D area. Non interfering components display as they did before the command was invoked.
  6. Click Calculate.
    If interference occurs, those locations are indicated by shaded area.
  7. Click when finished checking for interference.
