Symmetry

You can create a symmetry mate between two matching points, lines, planes, spherical, and cylindrical entities, about a plane, planar face of a component, or a plane of the assembly.

Before you begin: The following entities support symmetry mates:
  • Points such as vertices or sketch points
  • Lines such as edges, axes, or sketch lines
  • Planes or planar faces
  • Spheres of equal radii
  • Cylinders of equal radii
Note:

Symmetry mates do not mirror the entire component about the plane of symmetry. Symmetry mates only relate the selected entities to one another. They do not create symmetry mates between different types of entities.

  1. From the Assembly section of the action bar, create or insert the components.
  2. From the Assembly section of the action bar, click Symmetry .
  3. Select a plane or face that you want to use for the symmetry plane.
  4. Under Items to mate, select the two similar entities to be symmetric.
  5. Click .
