Converting Sketch Objects to Components

You can convert the sketch objects to assembly components and sketch constraints to mates using the Sketch to Components command.

  1. From the Assembly tab of the action bar, click Sketch to Components .
  2. To select the sketch objects, do one of the following:
    • When you click Sketch to Components command from outside a sketch, select a sketch in the Design Manager or one or more sketch objects on the model.
    • When you click Sketch to Components command from an active sketch, all the objects in that sketch are selected but you can clear the selection by clicking the objects individually.
    • Click the objects from the 3D area.
    The selected sketch objects are highlighted and callouts are displayed for each object.
  3. Enter a name in the callout of each sketch object.
  4. Optional: Select Delete original sketch to delete the original sketches.
  5. Click .
    • A physical product is created for each identified sketch object, using the specified names.
    • Sketch constraints are converted into mates and the geometry associated with the sketch is placed with the physical product.
