Working with Parameters

You can create parameters and assign values to these parameters.

Parameters are features that can be constrained by relations and that can be used as the arguments of a relation.

This task shows you how to:

Create a Parameter

From the Parameter Type list, select one of the following types:
- Length
- Angle
- Area
- Volume
- Mass
- Real
- Integer
- Boolean
In the Name box, enter a descriptive name.
In the Value box, specify the parameter's value.
When you create a Boolean parameter, select True or False.

Optional: Click the menu icon to specify additional options:

Option	Description
Add Equation	Lets you use the parameter in an equation.
Add multiple values	Lets you specify several values for the parameter. This option is not available when you create a Boolean parameter.
Add range	Lets you define a minimum and a maximum range value for the parameter. This option is not available when you create a Boolean parameter.

Validate .

Tip: To create several parameters in a row, you can click Apply, define another parameter in the panel, and then validate.

The new parameter appears under the Parameters node in the tree.

Edit a Parameter

In the tree, do one of the following to edit an existing parameter:
- Double-click the parameter.
- Click the parameter, and then click Edit Feature on the context toolbar.
In the panel, edit the parameter's value.

Important: You cannot modify the type of an existing parameter.
Click Apply to update the shape using the parameter.
