Creating Lofted Bents

You can create a lofted sheet metal geometry from two profiles. The profiles must have equal number of entities. It works on open and closed profiles.


Before you begin: Create two open sketches.
  1. From the Sheet Metal section of the action bar, click Hopper .
  2. Select a sketch as the first profile.



  3. Select another sketch as the second profile.

    The profiles selected must have an equal number of arcs and lines.

  4. In the dialog box, select an orientation for the profile.

    You can also use the handles in the sketch to change the orientation.

  5. Select a split point for the first profile.
  6. Select a split point for the second profile.


  7. Select Generate lofted bends to create lofted bend geometry.

    Select a bend line mode and specify the value.

  8. For bend calculation, specify the K- factor value.

    Click Linked to SheetMetal parameters beside K factor to get the options, Bend Allowance and Bend Deduction for bend calculation. Specify the value for bend allowance or bend deduction.

  9. Click to save and exit.
