Creating Text

You can create text at any given position along linear or circular elements. The text characters can be orthogonal or normal to a curve. You can apply a font type, size, and alignment to text parameters.

Before you begin: Create or edit a sketch.
  1. From the Sketch section of the action bar, click Text .

The Sketch Text dialog box appears.

  2. In the Text box, enter the text you want in the sketch.

You can select the linear, circular, or noncanonical curve as a support to create the text. By default, the text displays in a horizontal direction when no valid support curve is defined.

  3. From the Font list, select the font to apply on the text.
  4. Optional: Choose the font attributes.
    • Click for bold text.
    • Click for italic text.
  5. In the Font Size box, enter the value to define the height of the characters in the text.
  6. In the Spacing box, enter the percentage value to add or reduce the spacing between each character of the text.
  7. In the Ratio box, enter the percentage value to define the ratio of the width of the characters in the text with respect to the height of the characters.
  8. Choose the text align point.
    • Click anywhere in the work area
    • Click a sketch entity in the work area
  9. Select one of the following options to define the text alignment with respect to the text align point:
    • Left Alignment
    • Center Alignment
    • Right Alignment
  10. Select one of the following options to define the text positioning with respect to the sketch entity:
    • Descender
    • Baseline
    • Middle
    • Ascender
    • Vertical
    • Vertical left
    • Vertical right

Vertical alignment options are dependent on the support curve.
