Saving as DXF

You can save sheet metal flat patterns as a DXF documents for manufacturing.


Before you begin: Open a sheet metal model and switch it to flat pattern view.
  1. From the Tool section of the action bar, click Save as DXF
    The Save as DXF dialog box appears.
  2. Enter the file name.
  3. Select the location to save the file.
  4. Enter a spine tolerance value of 0.001 to 2.0.

    The tolerance value affects how splines are exported. The smaller the number, the more accurate is the spline, and the more line segments can be used to replicate the spline. The larger the value, the less accurate is the spline, and a fewer line segments can be used to replicate the spline.

  5. For Reference view, select the side 1 or side 2 from the model.
  6. Select the features to be saved in the DXF file.

    Include bend lines Include bend lines in the drawing.
    Include user stamp Include user stamps lines in the drawing.
    Mapped entities Include mapped sketch feature.
    Sketches Include sketches in the flat pattern.


    Note: The outline of the flat pattern is always saved.
  7. Click Save.
    The DXF file is saved in the selected location.
