Creating User-Defined Patterns

You can duplicate a feature or a current solid as many times as you want by specifying anchor points.

Before you begin:
  • Create a wall, a wall on edge and a cutout on the wall on edge. Create a sketch containing points.
  • Ensure that these features lie on a unique and planar wall.
  1. From the Sheet Metal section of the action bar, click User Pattern .
  2. In the Object to pattern, select the cutout to duplicate.
  3. In the Position box, select the sketch.
Important: By default, each instance is positioned with respect to the center of gravity of the element to be duplicated. To change this position, click the Anchor box and select another vertex or a point.
  4. Shows the number of patterns instances.
  5. Click .
Cutouts are created at the points of the sketch.
