Bottom-Up Design

In bottom-up design, you model individual parts that have no associativity to each other. You can model the parts as separate products in their own tabs or within the assembly product.

In a new tab, create features to comprise an individual component.
Use the Make Component command to transfer the features into a component.
Repeat the previous steps to add additional components to the document to create a product.
Create mates among the components.
