Customizing Mouse Gestures

The software provides four default mouse gestures as command shortcuts. You can specify four or eight mouse gestures, and you can assign commands to the gesture directions.

Context:

Customizing mouse gestures is useful, to have easy access to the commands you use most. You can also configure mouse gestures to provide access to a command located on one section of the action bar, while working on another section. For example, you can configure mouse gestures for easy access to the Interference Sensor command when working from the Assemblies section of the action bar.

To assign a command to a mouse gesture direction:

  1. From the Tools section of the action bar, click Configure .
  2. Click Mouse Gestures.

    You can assign four or eight gestures. By default, the software assigns four gesture directions: up, down, left, or right.

  3. Select the number of mouse gestures:

    With eight gestures, you can assign a gesture for each of eight directions: up, down, left, right, and along four diagonal directions from the center of the mouse gesture ring.

    • To assign four mouse gesture command shortcuts, clear Eight Gestures.
    • To assign eight mouse gesture command shortcuts, select Eight Gestures.
  4. Select the command:
    • To filter the command list by action bar section, for Command Category, select an action bar section name.
    • To search for the command by name, for Search, type the part or all of the command name and press Enter.
  5. In the row for the command, click the Gesture cell, and select the gesture direction.

    Note: You can select a blank value to clear the mouse gesture for a selected command.
    Note: A warning appears if a gesture direction is used by another command.

    To restore the system defaults for shortcuts, click Reset to Defaults .
