Inserting Pictures Into a Plane

You can insert a picture into a selected plane.

The supported file types include .jpg and .png.

This task shows you how to:

Insert Picture

  1. From the Tools section of the action bar, click Insert Picture .
  2. In the Insert Picture dialog box, click Choose Picture, browse to a picture, and click Open.
    The picture appears on the plane.
  3. From the Placement Plane, select a plane to insert a picture.
  4. Under Resolution, select an option:

    100% Maintains the current resolution of the picture
    75% Reduces the resolution of the picture to 75%.
    50%

    Reduces the resolution of the picture to 50%.

    25%

    Reduces the resolution of the picture to 25%.

  5. Specify the following options in the dialog box.
    • Offset. Inserts the picture at the specified offset from the selected plane.
      Note: To reverse the offset direction, click .
    • Angle. Inserts the picture at the specified angle to the selected plane.
      Note: To reverse the angle direction, click .
    • Flip horizontally . Flips the picture horizontally within the picture pane.



    • Flip vertically . Flips the picture vertically within the picture pane.



    • Transparency. Adjusts the transparency of the picture by dragging the slider.

    • Scale. Maintains a fixed width-to-height ratio of the picture.
      Manual Scales the picture by dragging the handles on the edges of the picture.
      On-screen points Scales the picture by selecting two points in the work area.
      Percentage Scales the picture using a percentage value.
    • Lock aspect ratio. Maintains a fixed width-to-height ratio of a picture.

    Click Reset picture to remove all your changes and reset the picture back to its initial state.

  6. Click .

Position Picture

You can move, rotate, resize, scale, and align the inserted picture using the Robot.

  1. Open the Insert Picture dialog box:
    • Drag the center of the Robot to move a picture in the work area.
    • Click an edge of a circle of the Robot to rotate a picture.
    • Drag the handles of the Robot on the edge to stretch or resize a picture.

    Note: While resizing a picture, turn on the Lock aspect ratio to maintain a fixed width-to-height ratio.

    • Click the circle handles to scale a picture horizontally or vertically.
    • Align multiple pictures that you inserted on the plane.
  2. Click .

    Note: You can delete pictures from the tree.
