Scaling Subdivisions by Specifying a Distance

You can scale a subdivision body uniformly or non-uniformly using Scale By Distance.

Note: Press Esc to exit the command at any time.

This task shows you how to:

  1. From the Subdivision section of the action bar, create a 2D or 3D subdivision object.

    Note: A 3D Subdivision box is used in this procedure.

  2. From the Subdivision section of the action bar, click Scale by Distance .
    The Scale By Distance dialog box appears.
  3. In the Scale By Distance dialog box, click the following:
    OptionDescription
    By Vector. Scales the subdivision body by a known distance using a vector.
    By Bounding Box. Scales the subdivision body using the bounding box distances.
  4. Click Scale Non-uniform to scale the subdivision body non-uniformly. It is turned off by default.
  5. Click to complete the subdivision scaling and close the dialog box.
  6. Click .
