Workflow for Working with Subdivision Objects

You can get started with xShape by bringing in a reference or from scratch. The reference can be a picture, a sketch, or even an imported model.

  1. Create a model. See Working in Sketches or Inserting Pictures Into a Plane. You can also create a model in other apps and import them. See Importing Geometry.
  2. Add a subdivision primitive. See 2D Subdivision or 3D Subdivision.
  3. Shape the subdivision by pushing and pulling the entities. See About the Robot or Subdivision.
  4. Modify the subdivision object by adding parametric features to the object. See Features.
  5. Create a separate part from the subdivision body and assemble it. See Making Components from Bodies. You can also create an assembly by inserting new components, see Inserting New Components and then add subdivision shapes to the components.
