Creating Notes

You can create notes on a 3D view or directly on a model. You can use the notes to add a comment or text about the selected component. You can edit the notes using the commands from the context toolbar.

If you add annotations directly on a model that do not have 3D views, the annotations are inserted in a 3D view by default(isometric view).

Before you begin:

Open or import a model in the app.

  1. Activate a 3D View from the Manager panel.
  2. From the action bar, select Annotation> Note.
  3. Select the component for which the note needs to be created.
  4. Click in the work area to place the note.
  5. In the dialog box, enter the text or note.
  6. Optional: Select the format, symbols, and text color for the note.
  7. If the note needs to be displayed flat to the screen, click the check box for Make note flat to the screen.
The resulting flat note is added to General Overlay Notes folder in the tree view. However, you can drag the note to Default View or any other view. You can edit the flat note using the context minibar in the tree and clear the Make note flat to the screenoption. The resulting note goes to the Default view folder.
  8. Expand Leader Attachment, and select the geometry to attach the leader.

By default, Attachment to geometry is selected.

Note: If the option, Make note flat to the screen is selected, Leader Attachment is not displayed.

  9. Select the leader type, attachment, and arrow options.
  10. Click Apply and repeat.
The note is created on the selected component. The dialog box remains open. You can create multiple notes at once. Click to save changes and close the dialog box.
