Analyzing Piercing of Holes

Use Pierce Analysis to check whether the input direction of the hole (painting, mounting or position hole) can be cut with the corresponding tolerances.

Before you begin: Your administrator has created a DieFaceDesign standard, from which the types of holes and corresponding tolerances are read.
  1. From the Quick View section of the action bar, select Quick Pierce .

Note: Pierce Analysis is available from
    • Process Generator Wizard
    • Process Method Plan
    • Cutout Analysis
    • Press Direction
    • Cam Direction.

  2. Select a type of hole to analyze.
The corresponding minimum and maximum impact piercing tolerances are read from the standard and proposed.
  3. Enter the Material Thickness value.
    • The detected maximum piercing impact value is displayed.
    • Pierce Analysis verifies that holes can be pierced within the required tolerances, and displays the errors.
