Analyzing Piercing of Holes

You can check whether the input direction of the hole (painting, mounting or position hole) can be cut with the corresponding tolerances.


Before you begin: Your administrator has created a DieFaceDesign standard, from which the types of holes and corresponding tolerances are read.

  1. From the Quick View section of the action bar, select Quick Pierce .

    Note: Pierce Analysis is available from
    • Process Generator Wizard
    • Process Method Plan
    • Cutout Analysis
    • Press Direction
    • Cam Direction.

  2. Select a type of hole to analyze.
    The corresponding minimum and maximum impact piercing tolerances are read from the standard and proposed.
  3. Enter the Material Thickness value.
    • The detected maximum piercing impact value is displayed.
    • Pierce Analysis verifies that holes can be pierced within the required tolerances, and displays the errors.
