Compensating Flange Springback Effect

You can compute the compensation of springback effect on a flange.

  1. From the Die Face section of the action bar, click Pivot Flange .
  2. Select the flange surface.
  3. Select the pivot curve, or create one from the context menu.
    Pivot Flange computes
    • The quantity of profiles specified in the dialog box.
    • A plane on each profile, perpendicular to the pivot curve.
    • An intersection curve between the plane and the flange surface.
    • A rotation feature for each curve.
  4. Click a point on the pivot curve to add a profile.
  5. Drag a profile origin to move it.
  6. Edit Initial Angle to modify all angles.

    Tip: Edit an individual angle in the 3D area.

  7. Select an attenuation in the dialog box.
  8. Edit Clearance Length that is the distance between the point that split the initial intersection curve and the origin of the curve.
  9. Set the number of profiles used to create the pivot flange.

A Set of Pivot Flanges is created. It contains

  • Profile Sets with their geometry.
  • a Pivot Flange feature.
