Reconnecting Adaptive Components in the Context

Adaptive Components reconnects an Adaptive Component that will adapt to fit the current design.

  1. Under the UI Active, select the Adaptive Component to reconnect.

Click an empty space to clear the selection.

  2. Click Automatic Reconnection.

    • Automatic Reconnection applies to features with external references.
    • For each feature, it detects the name of the publications to which the feature was previously connected.
    • Then it tries to find a publication with the same name under the children of the UI Active to reconnect the feature to this publication.

All existing external links present in the Adaptive Component are deleted.

Features are reconnected whenever a compatible publication is found. Their status changes to Done. The context of the Component changes to match the new external links.

Features with Multiple, Missing, or Failed status are isolated.

  3. Expand External and Isolated References Reconnection.
The table displays all the external references and isolated features contained in the first 3D Shape of the selected Component, with information such as:
    • Status regarding the reconnection (Place the pointer over the status for more information).
      • Valid: The feature can be reconnected to a found publication.
      • Done or Reconnected.
      • Reconnecting. Select the feature on which it is reconnected.
      • Isolated
      • Multiple: Several publications with the same name have been found. More information in the TO - Instances column.
      • Missing: No publication with the same name has been found.
      • Failed to Reconnect
    • Name of the feature
    • FROM - Publications: Publication from where it was linked.

Place the pointer over the column to retrieve information on the instance.

    • TO - Features: Feature or publication to which the feature is to be connected
    • TO - Instances: Instance containing the target

A global status (Worst status found) is displayed.

  4. Select one or several rows in the table and select an action in the context toolbar.
    • Isolate Feature
    • Reconnect Feature: Start the manual reconnection.
    • Reframe on
  5. For Reconnect Feature, the manual reconnection is done one row after the other.
    1. For each selected feature, select a feature of the same type.

If you click an empty space, clearing the target selection, the feature to reconnect reverts to its initial status. Reconnection is started on the next row.

For isolated features, as no external links can be found, a copy with link of the targeted feature is done inside the Adaptive Component. The previous feature is replaced by the new copy.

If Delete previous feature after reconnection is selected, the previous feature is deleted after a successful reconnection.

If Delete previous feature after reconnection is cleared, the replaced feature is not visible in the table. Do an automatic reconnection or select the Adaptive Component again to display it.

    2. If the previous feature was published, select Reconnect publications linked to features, Ignore publications linked to features, or Delete publications linked to features under Port management of reconnected feature.
      • Reconnect publications linked to features: The publication linked to the previous feature is now linked to the copy.
      • Ignore publications linked to features: The publication still points to the previous feature, or to nothing if it was deleted.
      • Delete publications linked to features: The publication is removed.
    3. For feature with external links, reconnection is similar to the automatic one.
  6. Validate or Cancel all performed actions.

Validation is possible whatever the global status is.

Use Undo inside Adaptive Components to cancel a few actions.

    The selected parameters remain active.
