Filtering a Cloud

You can filter a cloud of points, either with the Adaptative method or with the Homogeneous method.

This task shows you how to:

Before you begin:
  • It is impossible to filter a meshed cloud of points.
  • When you filter discrete polyline or grids, you actually filter points: filtered points are hidden and new discrete polylines or grids are created.
  • While filtering, undo cancels the last filter action.
  • Close restores the cloud as it was before starting the filtering action.
Tip: When you create a mesh from a filtered cloud of points, specify the Neighborhood value (if used) at at least 3 times the value of Homogenerous or Distance (depending on the Filter Type).
