In this tutorial, you will learn how to manually modify an associative
feature (cloud of points) successively using the three selection modes available in the App Options panel.
Consider the following product structure:
Two terrain-meshes marked A and B respectively
"Translate of B" splits A
The result element appears in green
Click Play to watch the video:
To access the
App Options
panel, from the
Tools section of the action bar, select
App Options.
By default, the Copy Paste As Result option is
selected under the Modes area in the App Options panel.
In the Prepare section of the action bar,
click Terrain Preparation.
Select the terrain.
Under Mesh Edition, click Move Point.
A copy of the feature appears. It is this copy you are modifying.
Click Allow selection of cloud feature in the App Options panel.
Repeat steps 2, 3 and 4.
This time, you are modifying the feature.
Modify a parameter of the input associative feature. For example, change the point Y
value.
Your previous modification disappears, and the bump appears on the green
surface. The computation on the input overrides any modification made to the result
manually.
Click Forbid selection of cloud feature in the App Options panel.
Repeat steps 2 and 3.
A message appears: You can no longer perform any modification on an associative
feature manually. The edition mode is locked.
This is the end of the tutorial. You learned how to use cloud feature selection modes
when editing terrain meshes.
