Importing a Terrain File (Cloud)

Lets you import a terrain file containing a cloud of points. In this procedure, you will import an Asc.free file format.

Importing a terrain file involves creating a new terrain and importing an external file into the new created terrain.

Click Play to watch the video:

  1. In the top bar, select Add > Import in the list.
  2. Select Terrain File.
    The Import dialog box appears.
  3. Click Import a file.
  4. Browse and select the ASC file to import.
    The cloud of points is created as an Engineering Document with a link on the part. The object selection dialog box is then updated with the selected file.
  5. Click Accept All.
  6. Click OK in the Import dialog box. The terrain file has been imported and you are now ready to filter the cloud of points
