Launching PLM Collaboration Services for AutoCAD from 3DEXPERIENCE

You can connect AutoCAD to 3DEXPERIENCE using Compass.

Before you begin: Before you begin:
  • Install Autodesk’s AutoCAD 2018.
  • Install PLM Collaboration Services for AutoCAD.
  1. From west quadrant of theCompass, select 3DEXPERIENCE roles and Apps.
  2. Click AutoCAD Connector.

    Note:

    • If you have already started AutoCAD, the AutoCAD Connector reuses the opened AutoCAD session and connects to 3DEXPERIENCE.
    • If you have installed AutoCAD on your computer, the latest supported installed version of AutoCAD is connected to 3DEXPERIENCE.

    • After you install PLM Collaboration Services for AutoCAD, when you open it for the first time, you

      can view the icons for 3DEXPERIENCE Launcher and IEFClientWorkspaceService within the taskbar. These icons indicate that AutoCAD is connected to 3DEXPERIENCE.

    • When you open AutoCAD for the first time, open it from Compass. Otherwise an error appears.

    • In the Files Menu, click Template Settings and specify the value of 'Default Template File Name for QNEW' as follows; C:\Users\appdata\local\autodesk\autocad mechanical 2018\r22.0\enu\acadm\template\acad.dwt
