Electronic Component Editor Dialog Box

The Electronic Component Editor is the interface to 3DEXPERIENCE PCB library management. The content panel lists all objects with their dependency structure. You can edit existing objects or create objects from the respective editor panels. When you make any changes in the product structure of an object from the editor panel, it is immediately reflected in the content panel. You can use Electronic Component Editor to create and manage following types of objects:

  • Electronic Physical Components
  • Altium Symbols
  • Altium Footprint and their embedded 3D models
  • 3D package objects
  • Multiple revisions of the same object
  • Multiple objects with the same Altium Designer name ( for example footprints and symbols).
Note: Objects in the Electronic Component Editor dialog box do not always appear in the Project Structure panel in Altium Designer. They appear in Project Structure only when you add them from the Altium Designer.
