Using Work Under Feature for Change Management

You can use the Work Under option to use a change action and to track the modifications performed on a design or an object. You can view various objects that are associated with a change action in the Change Action app. For more information, refer Social and Collaborative | Configuration and Change Management | Change Management | Change Actions for Dashboard.

This task shows you how to:

Context:

  • The Work Under icon appears in the Save to 3DEXPERIENCE dialog box which denotes that Work Under Change is active.
  • All the objects that you save using Work Under appear in the Realized changes tab in the Change Action app.

Starting Work Under from 3DEXPERIENCE Menu

You can start work under from the 3DEXPERIENCE menu.

  1. Click Tools > 3DEXPERIENCE and select Work Under.
    The Change Action app opens. You can see all the available change actions.
  2. Double-click the required change action.
  3. In the menu, click the Work Under. This icon appears only if you are an assignee of the CA and if the CA is in the In Work state.
    The work under session starts. A message appears with the information about the name, title and the description of the change action.

Starting Work Under from 3DEXPERIENCE Icon

You can use following steps for starting Work Under from 3DEXPERIENCE icon and selecting Change Action(CA):

  1. In the notification are of Design with Allegro HDL, right click 3DEXPERIENCE icon.
    The 3DEXPERIENCE menu appears.
  2. Select Work Under.
    The Change Action app opens. You can see all the available change actions.
  3. Double-click the required change action.
  4. In the menu, click the Work Under. This icon appears only if you are an assignee of the CA and if the CA is in the In Work state.
    The work under session starts. A message appears with the information about the name, title and the description of the change action.

Deactivating Work Under

You can use following steps to deactivate the Work Under option:

  1. In the notification area, right-click 3DEXPERIENCE Icon.
    System tray menu appears.
  2. Select Reset Work Under.
    The work under is deactivated.
