Managing Local Files

You can view, open, or delete the local workspace files on the CAD side.

Before you begin:
  • The Inventor® files with an assembly structure containing assembly and part in the local workspace directory.
  • Define the flag checkoutpath ="C:\LocalWorkspaceFolder in the InventorUPSSettings.ini file.
  1. From the MySession action bar, click Manage Local Files.
    The Manage Local Files dialog box opens with the local workspace files list.
    Note: The following types of files are displyed.
    • Part (ipt)
    • Assembly (iam)
    • Drawing (dwg)
    • Presentation (ipn)
  2. Select New Files, Modified Files, Existing Files, or Obsolete Files filter.

    By default, all the filter options are unselected.

    Note: Define the flag ManageObsoleteFiles=true in the InventorUPSSettings.ini file to have the Obsolte Files filter in the Manage Local Files dialog box.

    As per the selected filter the files are displayed.
  3. Select the action checkbox for the required file and select Open.

    Note: You cannot select the files that are opened in the session or read-only. The checkbox for these files are unavailable.

    The file is opened in the Inventor®.
  4. Select the action checkbox for the required file and select Delete.
    The file is deleted from the Manage Local Files list .
    Note: You can delete or open the files using contexula menu.
